Pol Roger, the champagne gentleman. Gentleman… the formula comes from Jean-Paul Kauffmann who wrote "Voyage en Champagne" (published by Equateurs). A way of depicting the inimitable style of the house, carried by character and elegance. An alchemy operated under l’Avenue de Champagne in Epernay, in the underground cellars.

Pol Roger participated in building the champagne legend. Very early, the founder launches cuvees made with less sugar, as a way to please the English court, and enables the brand to become the court’s official supplier. Until his dying day, Winston Churchill will receive a box of the house’s eponym cuvee. Always the same vintage wine: the 1928. This blending, made with the best grapes of pinot noir and chardonnay matures inside the cellars for a duration of ten years.

"A perfection", according to Frédéric Broché, wine waiter chef at the Assiette Champenoise in Tinqueux. The Michelin guide three stars restaurant offers France’s most diverse champagne menu. Among the 650 jewels stored in the refrigerated cellars is the champagne Pol Roger. As a lover of local bubbles, the chef, Arnaud Lallement, appreciates the backbone of the Pol Roger blending. He was able to trace back its history up to the year 1914!
