The festive season is synonymous with big meals, luxury dishes, comfort food and divine wines to accompany them all. Champagne is too often served just as an aperitif, or perhaps with a starter... But our favourite sparkling wine has more than one trick up its sleeve and can be a knock-out with any number of courses!

To finish 2020 on a more cheerful and bubbly note, Grappers shows you how you can pair champagne with an entire meal...

With oysters...

Champagne Barrat-Masson « Grain d’Argile » Extra-Brut

Obscenely pleasurable! It’s got it all: depth and finesse, vinosity and vibrancy. The palate is full and rich yet perfectly defined. This is a very fine champagne with impressive length. Barrat-Masson is definitely a producer to watch!

Price: around 42€

With sea scallops…

Champagne Mailly « Les Echansons » Extra-Brut 2009

A sunny vintage bursting with lovely ripe fruit, a superb terroir and winemaking excellence have given us a champagne with a lovely salinity. What more could you ask for? Its length is interminable with emergent notes of undergrowth, juicy yellow fruit and some lovely subtle floral overtones.

Price: around 100€
