RSRV, Mumm champagnes for the lucky few....
Champagnes for private club members only? The speciality of the Mumm Champagne House! Already back in the 19th century, the famous Champagne with the ‘Cordon Rouge’ used to save the mythical Mumm de Cramant, then the Mumm Blanc de Blancs, exclusively for the Champagne House's friends.
In 2019, Mumm revived this principle of exclusivity with RSRV, exceptional champagnes exclusively for club members.
The RSRV champagnes at a glance
For its RSRV champagnes, Mumm has chosen a unique bottle, one that is instantly recognisable. The neck is long and the body is round, the hallmarks of a great champagne. The RSRV label is a tribute to Mumm's Cramant champagne and has a bevelled corner. Why so? It is a reference to the business card that used to be presented with the Mumm de Cramant champagne. Each bottle was hand-delivered to the friends of the Champagne House, but if the recipient was absent, the top right-hand corner was folded down, a sign that one had come in-person to pay one's respects.
A subtle detail on the RSRV label: the four imposing letters are in black on white for the Blanc de Blancs, and white on black for the Blanc de Noirs.
But Mumm does not just make do with an elegant bottle and a surprising label, nothing is too good for the friends of the Champagne House. So, it has created a case of six RSRV bottles with a clean and refined design, just like the champagnes. The bottles are presented upright in a polished wooden case, complete with a leather strap.
