Champagnes for private club members only? The speciality of the Mumm Champagne House! Already back in the 19th century, the famous Champagne with the ‘Cordon Rouge’ used to save the mythical Mumm de Cramant, then the Mumm Blanc de Blancs, exclusively for the Champagne House's friends.

In 2019, Mumm revived this principle of exclusivity with RSRV, exceptional champagnes exclusively for club members.

The RSRV champagnes at a glance

For its RSRV champagnes, Mumm has chosen a unique bottle, one that is instantly recognisable. The neck is long and the body is round, the hallmarks of a great champagne. The RSRV label is a tribute to Mumm's Cramant champagne and has a bevelled corner. Why so? It is a reference to the business card that used to be presented with the Mumm de Cramant champagne. Each bottle was hand-delivered to the friends of the Champagne House, but if the recipient was absent, the top right-hand corner was folded down, a sign that one had come in-person to pay one's respects.

A subtle detail on the RSRV label: the four imposing letters are in black on white for the Blanc de Blancs, and white on black for the Blanc de Noirs.

But Mumm does not just make do with an elegant bottle and a surprising label, nothing is too good for the friends of the Champagne House. So, it has created a case of six RSRV bottles with a clean and refined design, just like the champagnes. The bottles are presented upright in a polished wooden case, complete with a leather strap.

A quick review of the champagnes

RSRV Blanc de Blancs 2014

RSRV Blanc de Blancs 2014 is crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes harvested in Cramant.

Tasting notes

A clear, bright hue with green and pale-yellow tints and light, delicate bubbles.

On the nose, the wine reveals notes of citrus fruit, lemon meringue pie and white peaches.

Incisive on entry to the palate, the wine shows great freshness, with good length and minerality.

RSRV Blanc de Noirs 2012

RSRV Blanc de Noirs 2012 is crafted exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes harvested in Verzenay.

Tasting notes

Yellow hue threaded with golden highlights.

On the nose, the wine reveals notes of candied citrus and apricot, dried fruit and pastry.

The clean entry to the palate is created by the structure and power of the Pinot Noir, which finishes with a certain tension.

RSRV Rosé Foujita

RSRV Rosé Foujita is a blend of six Grands Crus, bringing together the Pinot Noir from Verzenay, Aÿ and Bouzy, and the Chardonnay from Cramant and Avise. The red wine from Ambonnay creates roundness and power on the palate with aromas of red and black fruit.

Tasting notes

Intense colour with salmon pink tints.

On the nose, we find notes of brioche, pastry and vanilla, as well as aromas of ripe berries and raspberry coulis.

On the palate, we have an impression of roundness and vinosity. The finish is taut with notes of red fruit.
