Famous for being Winston Churchill's favourite Champagne House, Pol Roger has been cultivating the tradition of excellence for five generations. It continues to show its excellence in 2021 with the launch of its new vintage champagne: the Brut Vintage 2013.

Pol Roger pays very close attention to the crus it selects for its champagnes and prides itself on only crafting a vintage champagne in outstanding years. This is the case of the 2013 vintage, which brought us fresh and well-balanced wines.

Faithful to Pol Roger's traditional blend, this Brut Vintage 2013 is crafted from 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from 20 Grands and Premier Crus vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs. 7 years ageing have been necessary to bring out its full potential.

Pierre Guigui's opinion

"Every time I pop open a bottle of Pol Roger champagne, I imagine myself sitting in a big leather armchair in a British private club in the company of Sir Winston! The latter was a huge fan of this Champagne House and its big, generous and "comfortable" style of champagne. 2013 retains this wine DNA with some real substance, but is primarily remarkable for its great delicacy. A myriad of very fine bubbles gently teases our taste buds. The aromas are subtle with notes of cherry, light tobacco and flowers. The palate is as refreshing as vegetal water, it is salivating with a hint of zesty bitterness that stretches the finish. This is a wine that delights the senses. Perhaps, after all, Churchill was a sensitive, if not a subtle old soul?"
