Bruno Paillard, "Where strength marries grace"

Among other things, the Paillard Champagne House always likes to associate its vintage Blanc de Blancs with a work of art. The label of the recently released 2012 features a reproduction of an exclusive work by Takehiko Sugawara.

After multiple tastings of the vintage, Bruno Paillard's daughter Alice (at the helm of the Champagne House) wanted to let her impressions speak for themselves. And then, after months of gestation, an interesting expression popped into her head like the outline of a haiku: "Where strength marries grace".

The wine

2012 has produced rich, well-ripened and flavoursome grapes that have remarkably concentrated and dense juices. The Paillard Champagne House fine-polished the wine and tamed its spirited character by the vinification of 20% of the juices in small old oak barrels. This was followed by 8 years ageing and an Extra Brut dosage which gives the body an added lift.
